Greensboro Sustainibility Policies, Greensboro, NC This is an audit of existing plan policies and development of new policies supporting sustainable development. Working with Brendle Group and Teska Associates we are examining all plans including the Comprehensive Plan, Sustainability Action Plan, Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan, Connections 2025, Stormwater Management Plan, 2017 Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Land Development Ordinance, Comprehensive Transportation Plan, Long Range Transportation Plan, 2010-2014 Housing Consolidated Plan: Plan for a Resilient Community, and Departmental Policies and Procedures
Prince Abdulaziz Bin Mousaed Economic City (PABMEC) Review, Saudi Arabia Review of this proposed new city in northwest Saudi Arabia planned as one of King Abdullah's Economic Cities. This city, planned for 480,000 people will base it's development on agricultural industries. Graham was contracted by RW Armstrong to act as principal planner on the review team.
Urban Design - High Point Road/Lee Street Corridor, Greensboro North Carolina This is the implementation, design standards and land use code amendment, of the corridor plan first developed by Teska Associates. Working with Teska Associates, and Clarion Associates, Graham is part of the urban design team developing the standards under which this three-mile corridor will be redeveloped.
Consolidated Plan - Greensboro/Guilford County, North Carolina HUD Consolidated Planning page (right hand column - Sustainability) The City of Greensboro and Guilford County wished to develop not just the HUD required consolidated plan, but to go beyond that, creating a policy document which goes further, and specifically addresses the future of the region with the goal of improving housing for all citizens. This innovative five-year plan goes further than usual by incorporating sustainable community policies to better address housing needs in this community of almost 400,000 people. This enlightened approach, developing policies which cross over to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Transportation Plan, and infrastructure policies. Graham was project manager, working with Teska Associates. Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance Update - North Platte, Nebraska This is a new comprehensive plan and an update to the existing zoning ordinance for the City of North Platte. The city is a major railroad hub and has prospered in the current economic downturn. The goal is to make the city more sustainable, and the make changes to the land use regulations reflecting recent changes in the community’s attitude toward development and a desire to remain a major regional center. The plan is being developed simultaneously with the County Comprehensive Plan. Graham is assisting Keith Marvin, Marvin Planning Consultants with that plan as well. Web Page
Regional Parks Plan, Public Participation - Alcova, Grey Reef, and Pathfinder Parks, Natrona County, Wyoming Recreational Master Plan Web page This is a master plan to guide the management of these resources for the next 20 years. The plan is being developed because recreation and user expectations have changed, and there are new environmental issues. The project includes extensive public outreach, economic analysis, an environmental assessment as well as significant new design work to create new camping, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, and archeological educational exhibits throughout the three parks. Graham's role is leading the public participation process including all meetings and conducting surveys.
New Town Planning Energy City Libya This is a project designing a new city on the Mediterranean Sea about 60 kilometers west of Tripoli. The client, Energy City, based in Qatar contracted RW Armstrong to design through over lot grading, a sustainable city with resorts, a central business district, a university, a regional hospital, civic uses, and residential uses. The client and the Libyan government have approved the concept which is a city for 60,000 people with a daytime population of 115,000. Final design will be completed by early summer. Graham was contracted by RW Armstrong to act as lead planner for the project.
Comprehensive Plan Update - Ft. Morgan, Colorado This is an update of the comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance to reflect current and future issues and trends in this significant Colorado eastern plains community. Although the city has a population of just over 10,000, it is a regional center with retail and community services for a population of three to four times that. Graham is part of the team with Plan Tools, and Murray Dahl Kuechenmeister & Renaud, attorneys.
Housing Market Analysis and Needs Assessment 2010 - 2014, Burlington/Alamance County, North Carolina This is the base information for the HUD required five-year plan for this Piedmont city. Graham was the project manager working with Teska Associates.
